Flags to Half Staff in Alaska in Honor of Patrick Johnson and Gabriel Rich

Alaska Governor Parnell has ordered state flags to be flown at half-staff on Friday, May 9, 2014 until sunset on Sunday, May 11, 2014 in honor of the two Alaska State Troopers who were killed in the line of duty last week. Troopers Patrick Johnson and Gabriel Rich were shot while conducting an investigation in Tanana.

Judge von der Heydt was appointed to the position of U.S. District Judge for the District of Alaska in 1966 and held that position until retirement in 1994.

September 18, 2012 - Alaska Governor Parnell has ordered Alaska State flags to be flown at half staff on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 in honor of former Representative Henry Pratt who died on August 30, 2012, he was 82. Pratt, of Anchorage served one term in the Alaska House of Representatives beginning in 1961. In 1969, he was appointed executive assistant to Governor Keith Miller. Pratt also served as executive assistant for Anchorage Mayor Tom Fink.
